Dhulagori Mahila Samity was founded on the Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi i.e. the 2nd October in 1972. Following his footstep and keeping rural India in mind the organization was established to promote a sustainable development by bringing in balanced growth and betterment of the grass-root level community utilizing local, internal and external resources.
It is situated in an underdeveloped SC/ST/OBC area of the Sankrail Block in the district of Howrah in West Bengal . A Vast majority of the population is illiterate especially in the SC/ST/OBC Categories . The aim and objective of the Dhulagori Mahila Samity is to empower the Women and Youth of the area for a better future of the community.
It was started by a group of individuals engaged in creating values in the lives of needy & poor people; by supporting financially for diversified needs, by knowledge empowerment and by assisting them in building up a bright future.
